About TCS

Since it first opened its doors to students in 1981,

Trinity Christian School has been committed to providing a Christ-centered education all while partnering with parents to educate the minds and nurture the hearts of students for the glory of God. Over the years, TCS has expanded from a small preschool to a thriving Classical Christian School with grades PreK through 12th Grade. Our students graduate with a foundation to be strong and effective members of the community and for God's kingdom.

Classical Christian Education

The only classical Christian school in Hawaii, Trinity utilizes the classical method of education to teach students in a way that matches how children and young adults learn naturally. CCE categorizes Preschool–Secondary Education into three stages: Grammar, Logic, and Rhetoric.

At the Grammar stage (Preschool–6th Grade), students have the ability to absorb vast amounts of information, and the classical method taps into that quality to develop a basic foundation of knowledge.

The Logic stage (7th–8th Grade) teaches students to build on that knowledge by learning logical thinking, critical reading, and writing skills.

Finally, the Rhetoric stage (9th–12th Grade), teaches them to take their knowledge base and logical thinking and use it to form their own arguments and rhetorical techniques.

Central to the classical approach is the integration of subjects, organized around a historical timeline. Literature, composition, science, art, and mathematics are connected to the time periods in which they developed. Students engage with rigorous content and themes from the Western tradition that prepare them far beyond basic standards, resulting in a sense of greater understanding and true accomplishment. They learn to discern what is true, good, and beautiful as they model after their instructors; they develop a new degree of emotional, spiritual, physical, and academic independence.
